Air travel
The closest commercial airport to Virginia Tech is the Roanoke-Blacksburg regional airport (ROA). Smart Way bus service runs from the airport to the Virginia Tech campus at a cost of $4.00 one way, but does not run on Sundays. Please see the Smart Way website for schedules and service updates. The next nearest (and significantly larger) airport is the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It’s roughly a 3-hour drive from Blacksburg.
